Ashburnham Community Church - Making and Growing Followers of Christ

FAQs
(Frequently Asked Questions)
What denomination is associated with the Ashburnham Community Church? The Ashburnham Community Church is associated with the United Church of Christ (UCC) and the United Methodist (UM) denominations. However, approximately half our congregation has elected to simply join The Ashburnham Community Church rather than a specific denomination. You are welcome at our church regardless of  denomination or where you are on your spiritual journey.

At what time are services held on Sunday mornings?  We have a contemporary service each Sunday at 8:30am. Sunday School is between services at 9:45am, and we have a traditional service at 10:30am.

Do I have to be a member to attend services?
Absolutely not. Please feel free to attend either the Contemporary or Traditional service on any Sunday. There are guest cards in each pew if you'd like more information, or you can stay for coffee and meet some interesting people.

Do you offer child care?
Yes! Enjoy some time to yourself while your young children are tended to by a licensed child care provider in our nursery or youth rooms, which are adjacent to the sanctuary.

What opportunites do you provide for spiritual growth? The Ashburnham Comunity Church offers a wide range of activities and classes that allow you to proceed along your spiritual journey at the pace that best suits you. Just a few examples of opportunities available include
Youth Bible Study, The Alpha Program (for adults), Tres Dias (adults), The School of Healing Prayer (adults) and the Disciple Program.

Where is the Ashburnham Community Church located, and how do I get in touch with the church? To attend the service of your choice, just come on Sunday at the appropriate time--all are welcome. We are located directly off Main Street (rte. 12) on the corner of Main and Chapel, as you leave town towards the west. The exact address is:

9 Chapel Street
Ashburnham, MA 01430
978 827 5553

How do I know which service is right for me, the contemporary or the traditional? The only way to know for sure is to attend them both, and you will find which style of worship is best for you and your family. Many members of our congregation attend whichever service best fits their busy schedule on any given Sunday or sometimes even both services.

Does your church do any outreach programs to the community or the world? Yes--in recent years our youth group has traveled to a Native American reservation in Washington State and to Appalachia, and we have participated in Habitat for Humanity projects both locally and in El Salvador. We also open up our church to a wide range of civic organizations, from Boy and Girl Scouts to AA to the Odd Fellows. We are also the home for Ashburnham's Frederick Historic Piano Collection's concert series, which draws musicians from around the country and the world, as well as attendees from as far away as New York City and Boston. We operate a very active food pantry for those in need in our area, and participate in programs such as Stephen Ministry, Blankets and Tools, Neighbors in Need, and much more.
